DARLO BAR and our friends at 4 PINES BEER are inviting creative designers, artists, graphic designers and students to submit their artwork to be incorporated onto the iconic facade of the Darlo Bar!
The aim of this artwork is to add to the social amenity of the area and allowing our wonderful artistic community to weave their talent onto our walls.
The winning artist will have their designs translated onto* the northern back wall of the Darlo Bar (Darlinghurst Road side), as well as winning $3000 in prize money, as well as $2,000 in art supplies!
All successful nominees will have their submissions on display inside Darlo Bar the week of the 31st August - 6th September, and the winner will see their mural immortalised on our bricks on the 21st September (followed by a beer and a bit of a party, of course!)

AU residents 18+ only who are willing for their design to be painted as a mural (by them or another artist) on 21/9/19 at the Darlo Bar. Between 12.01am (AEST) 1/8/19 & 11.59pm (AEST) 30/8/19, design a 4 Pines mural depicting the 4 Pines trees (in accordance with Promoter's specifications), visit www.darlobar.com.au/4-Pines-Mural & fill out entry form incl uploading design. Max 1 entry per design. Shortlisted entries proceed to public voting at website and Darlo Bar between 2pm (AEST) 31/8/19 & 11.59pm (AEST) 6/9/19. Winning design determined by Promoter, with consideration of public votes. Must claim prize by 12pm (AEST) 15/9/19. Entrants will get future marketing from Promoter, & opt-in, from Darlo Bar. Competition Period Entry Period: 12.01am (AEST) on 01/08/2019 to 11.59pm (AEST) on 30/08/2019
Voting Period: 2.00pm (AEST) on 31/08/2019 to 11.59pm (AEST) on 06/09/2019
Who can enter?
Only Australian residents who:
(a) are aged 18 or over; and
(b) are either:
(i) willing to, and have the skills and ability to, replicate their Design as a mural; OR
(ii) give permission to a third party artist (as determined by the Promoter) to replicate their Design as a mural, in accordance with the specifications provided by the Promoter at any time on 21/09/2019 at the Venue, at a time to be determined by the Promoter.
Who can't enter?
Directors, officers, management and employees (and their immediate families) of:
(a) the Promoter; and
(b) the agencies, companies or participating premises associated with this competition.

To enter, you must during the Competition Period:
(a) design a 4 Pines mural depicting the 4 Pines trees in accordance with any specified rules or instructions provided by the Promoter which can be created in paint at the specified location at the Venue (Design); and
(b) visit the Website, locate the entry page and fill out and submit the online entry form, including by uploading an image of your Design as specified and providing all other requested information.
The Promoter is not responsible if your mobile device/desktop is not sufficiently capable for the purpose of submitting an entry, including having the requisite photograph capability.
Your Design must not be obscene, offensive, malicious, discriminatory, indecent or (in the Promoter's opinion) otherwise objectionable or inappropriate (for example it must not include nudity or language the Promoter deems offensive).
All entries/Designs will be screened by the Promoter prior to being accepted as an entry in this competition.
How many winners will there be and how will they be chosen?
This is a game of skill. Chance plays no part in how a winner will be selected.
There are two stages to the judging period.
All valid entries received will be reviewed and judged by the Promoter (and/or by appointed judge/s) based on creativity, originality, brand suitability/practicality and commercial viability. At the end of the Entry Period, the entries judged to be the best will be shortlisted to proceed to the voting stage. The number of shortlisted entries will be as determined by the Promoter.
Shortlisted entrants are not entitled to a prize, unless they are subsequently deemed the winner. All shortlisting judging decisions are as determined by the Promoter (and/or by appointed judge/s), in their absolute discretion.
Voting will be made available to the public online at the Website and at the Venue during the Voting Period. Members of the public who vote on shortlisted entries must follow any instructions specified in order to submit their vote.
At the end of the Voting Period, the valid shortlisted entry which the Promoter deems to be the best will win the prize. Public votes received via the Website and at the Venue will be taken into account by the Promoter in determining the winner, however public votes will not be the only factor.
The Promoter reserves the right at any time during the judging and winner determination stages to contact entrants in relation to their Design and their participation in this competition, including but not limited to requiring entrants to prove (in the manner and timeframe specified by the Promoter), the entrants ability to replicate their design as a mural as specified. Such correspondence with entrants does not mean that the entrant is, or will be, shortlisted or the winner.
What can I win?
There is 1 prize available.
The prize is $3,000 awarded to the winner via EFTPOS Money card and the opportunity for the winner (or a third party artist on the winner's behalf, as determined by the Promoter) to paint the agreed winning Design at a mural at the location specified at the Venue on 21/09/2019. In addition the prize also includes $2,000 worth of paint/supplies (as agreed between the winner/artist and Promoter). The winner/artist is responsible for providing any other materials needed and for arranging their own transport and accommodation at their own cost, to participate in the prize.
The Promoter will determine, in its absolute discretion and for any reason/s (taking into account the views of the winner), whether it will be the winner who will paint their Design as a mural, or whether a third party artist will be engaged to do so. The mural must be completed in full, as specified, in the period of time specified.
Total prize pool The total prize pool is $5,000.
How many times can I enter?
You can enter multiple times, provided you only enter once per Design. Each entry must be submitted separately in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
How and when will the shortlisted entrants and winner be informed?
The shortlisted entrants will be notified by telephone and in writing by email by the start of the Voting Period.
The winner will be notified by phone and in writing by email on 10/09/2019.
The winner will have their name and state residence published on the Website on 10/09/2019.
What if I don't claim my prize on time?
Prize claim date: 12.00pm on 15/09/2019.
If a prize has not been accepted or claimed by the prize claim date above or if, after making all reasonable attempts, the Promoter can't contact a winner (or a winner does not contact the Promoter) by the prize claim date above, the relevant entry/ies will be discarded, and the Promoter will re-award the relevant prize to the person who submitted the next best valid entry.
Collection and use of your personal information
If you are a winner, you must take part in all publicity, photography and other promotional activity as the Promoter requires, without any compensation. You consent to the Promoter using your name and image in any promotional or advertising activity.
The Promoter may collect your personal information directly or through its agents or contractors. The Promoter will use your personal information to conduct and manage the competition. The Promoter may disclose your personal information to its related companies, agents and contractors to assist in conducting this competition, communicating with you or storing data. This may include disclosures to organisations outside Australia including in places such as the USA, the UK, India and Germany.
By entering, you consent to the Promoter keeping your personal information on its database to use for future marketing purposes, including contacting you by electronic messaging. By entering, you consent to receive email or SMS messages from the Promoter without any functional unsubscribe facility.
(a) how to seek access to the personal information the Promoter holds about you and seek correction of the information; and
(b) how to complain about a privacy breach and how the Promoter will deal with such a complaint.

2 Your entry must be received during the Competition Period and will be deemed to be received only when received by the Promoter. You will receive a return message confirming your entry. The Promoter is not liable for any problems with communications networks. You are responsible for your own costs associated with entering. If you enter using automatically generated entries or multiple phone numbers/email addresses/addresses/aliases, you may be disqualified.
3 Every Design must be your original work and not copied.
4 To the extent permitted by law, you unconditionally and irrevocably consent to the Promoter copying and amending your entry (including your Design) and using (or allowing others to use) your entry (including your Design) and any rights in relation to your entry in a way that would otherwise infringe your moral rights in your Design, to publicise this competition or for any other purpose. These rights are perpetual, royalty free, world-wide, irrevocable and transferable. For example, the Promoter may publish all or any part of your entry or any amended version of it. The Promoter may also decide not to publish an entry, to cease publication of an entry, or to publish an edited entry.
5 The Promoter may edit, or request that you edit, your Design at any stage during or after this competition. If you do not follow the Promoter's instructions in this regard, your participation in this competition may be deemed invalid (and if you have already been deemed a shortlisted entrant or the winner, you may forfeit all entitlement and involvement in this competition).
6 You warrant that your entry (including your Design) does not breach any third party rights (for example, intellectual property rights) and its use by the Promoter or any other person will not breach such rights nor otherwise breach any law (for example, it is not defamatory, in contempt of court or in breach of any privacy law).
7 Prize/s and all elements of prize/s must be taken as and when offered or will be forfeited, and if forfeited, the Promoter will not be liable. Prize/s are subject to any additional terms and conditions imposed by the relevant supplier or the Promoter.
8 Where relevant, the Promoter accepts no responsibility if one or more of the events or activities awarded as part of the prize are abandoned, called off or postponed for any reason. In that case you forfeit your entitlement to that event/activity.
9 The Venue makes no representations in relation to the period of time which they will display the mural at the Venue. The Venue may leave the mural in place for any period of time, or they may edit, re-paint, cover or remove the mural at any time, in their absolute discretion.
10 Any failure by you to comply with the conditions imposed by the prize supplier(s) may result in the prize being cancelled or withdrawn without liability for the Promoter or the prize supplier(s).
11 If you or your entry are deemed by the Promoter to breach these Terms and Conditions including if the prize is on set dates and you are unable to take the prize on the relevant date/s, your entry (or at the Promoter's discretion, all of your entries) may be discarded. The Promoter may, at any time, require you to produce documentation to establish to the Promoter's satisfaction the validity of your entries (including documentation establishing your identity, age, place of residence and place of employment). Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not waive those rights.
12 You must not:
(a) tamper with the entry process;
(b) engage in any conduct that may jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the competition;
(c) act in a disruptive, annoying, threatening, abusive or harassing manner;
(d) do anything that may diminish the good name or reputation of the Promoter or any of its related entities or of the agencies or companies associated with this competition;
(e) breach any law; or
(f) behave in a way that is otherwise inappropriate.
13 The Promoter is not liable for entries, prize claims or correspondence that are misplaced, misdirected, delayed, lost, incomplete, illegible or incorrectly submitted.
14 The Promoter’s decision in connection with all aspects of this competition is final.
15 Prizes cannot be transferred or exchanged nor for cash. Without limiting any other term of these Terms and Conditions, all prizes (and elements of prizes) must be taken as and when specified, or will be forfeited with no replacement. Any unused balance of paint or funds in respect of the paint will be forfeited by the winner. The prize values include any applicable GST. You agree that if a prize (or element of a prize) is unavailable for any reason the Promoter may provide another item of equal or higher value.
16 If this competition cannot run as planned for any reason beyond the Promoter's control, for example due to software, hardware or communications issues, unauthorised intervention, tampering, fraud or technical failure, the Promoter may end, change, suspend or cancel the competition or disqualify affected entries/entrants.
17 The Promoter is not responsible for any tax implications arising from you winning a prize. You should seek independent financial advice. If for GST purposes this competition results in any supply being made for non-monetary consideration, you must follow the Australian Taxation Office’s stated view that where the parties are at arm’s length, goods and services exchanged are of equal GST inclusive market values.
18 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions restricts, excludes or modifies any consumer rights under any statute including the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth).
19 Subject to the previous paragraph, the Promoter and the agencies and companies associated with this competition are not liable (including in negligence) for any loss (including indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense, damage, personal injury (including allergies, skin conditions or other reactions, as relevant), illness or death suffered in connection with this competition or any prize, except for any liability which under statute cannot be excluded (in which case that liability is limited to the greatest extent allowed by law).
20 Without limiting the previous paragraph, the Promoter and the agencies and companies associated with this competition are not liable for any loss of, damage to or delay in delivery of prize/s.
21 This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with any social media platform, including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. You provide your information to the Promoter and not to any social media platform. You completely release any relevant social media platforms from any and all liability.
