About Alpha Box & Dice

Alpha Box & Dice, a boutique winery from McLaren Vale, is dedicated to creating an 'Alphabet of Wine,' with each wine representing a different letter. Each wine has a unique story, transcending traditional styles, regions, and varietals. Crafted in small batches with minimal intervention, all wines are vegan-friendly.

Since 2008, Alpha Box & Dice has championed South Australia's alternative, particularly Mediterranean, varieties, innovating at every step and bending traditional winemaking norms. Though they don't own vineyards, they work closely with a network of growers across South Australia's wine regions, ensuring only the highest quality fruit is used.

Meet Head Winemaker, Sam Berketa

Adelaide local Sam Berketa joined Alpha Box & Dice as Head Winemaker in 2016 at just 26 years old. He has continued to evolve the winery's legacy, creating new 'letters' under his unique winemaking philosophy. Sam has experience working in wineries across McLaren Vale, Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula, Rheinhessen (Germany), Barolo (Italy), and Monterey (USA). He applies knowledge gained from each region to improve Alpha Box & Dice wines with every vintage.

Sam ensures that every Alpha Box & Dice wine is innovative, relevant, and incredibly drinkable. He works closely with his network of growers year-round to ensure that the quality of the fruit is reflected in the glass.
